The Angler Action Program offers a systematic approach to logging and documenting fishing trips and catches, providing valuable data for recreational fisheries management while also serving as a personal record for anglers. The platform is designed to accommodate varying levels of data entry, allowing users to input as much or as little information as they choose. These records remain accessible to users for review and download at any time.

The questions related to fishing trips were developed through collaboration between experienced anglers and research partners, ensuring that the data collected supports meaningful scientific analysis. The gathered information aims to enhance understanding of fish populations and their dynamics.

Data entered into the iAngler app is automatically synchronized with the Angler Action web portal (www.AnglerAction.org), facilitating seamless access and management of records.

Importantly, the Angler Action Program addresses a critical gap in fishery management by collecting comprehensive data on both released and harvested fish. This includes details on fish sizes, quantities, and locations—information that is predominantly obtained through angler reports, contributing significantly to scientific research and sustainable fisheries management.
